While the fourth installment is now streaming on Netflix, we couldn’t help but wonder when Virgin River season 5 will premiere—and what will happen in it. Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t released an official premiere date for Virgin River season 5. Since season four premiered this July, the fifth installment is expected around this time next year. Plus, Annette O’Toole recently confirmed that Virgin River season 5 is currently filming in Canada.
Virgin River tells the story of Melinda “Mel” Monroe, a nurse practitioner who is looking for a fresh start after losing her husband, Mark. The first two seasons follow Mel as she adjusts to small-town living, while the third and fourth installments further explore her relationship with Jack. The fifth season is expected to pick up right where the finale ends, with Charmaine’s paternity bombshell and Preacher’s battle with Vince.
Virgin River features an all-star cast, including Alexandra Breckenridge (Mel), Martin Henderson (Jack), Colin Lawrence (Preacher), Lauren Hammersley (Charmaine), Tim Matheson (Vernon, or “Doc”), Annette O’Toole (Hope), Jenny Cooper (Joey), Lexa Doig (Paige), Ben Hollingsworth (Brady), Daniel Gillies (Mark), Zibby Allen (Brie), Sarah Dugdale (Lizzie) and Nicola Cavendish (Connie).
The answer is no. It’s important to note that we aren’t expecting a trailer for quite some time because Virgin River season four just hit Netflix. Therefore, the fifth installment isn’t supposed to premiere until next year.
Henderson shared a brand-new selfie on Instagram to kick off Virgin River season 5. “Jack’s back! Day 1 of shooting #virginriver,” he wrote in the caption. “Season 5—feels good to slip back into Jack’s boots.”
